Initially, the company used a simple pallet storage solution, but already after a few years Allaero faced several challenges. The collection of parts was not ergonomic, and the storage capacity of parts of various sizes and shapes began to be at the limit. Although two Hänel Lean-Lift® lifts were installed as early as 2009, the need for storage continued to increase. A total of 12 Hänel Lean-Lift® systems are currently in operation at Allaeron's Crawley site.
For safe and reliable storage of large components, a special high access opening is installed in two elevators. Parts up to 1,350 mm high can be stored ergonomically and space-saving. Hänel Lean-Lift® is particularly suitable for storing small and medium-sized parts. Tailor-made mechanisms, such as wheel and landing gear storage solutions, make Hänel Lean-Lift® a versatile storage solution. A great advantage for employees is also excellent comfort and ergonomic availability of parts. Accurate identification of parts is ensured by appropriate marking.
The storage system is centrally managed with the MP 100 D control system. A complete storage list for each lift is available from the control terminal at any time. This allows employees to have an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the stock situation at all times.
Three Lean-Lift® lifts with EcoDrive® technology optimize the energy consumption of the warehouse with intelligent energy recovery.
For the storage of an entire aircraft wing, one extra wide Lean-Lift® is being added to the Hänel system.
Next year, Allaero will achieve its goal when all its products will be stored exclusively in Hänel's elevator systems. Fast product availability allows orders to be collected and shipped within 15 minutes of receiving the order.
Allaero's office is located close to all major freight carriers including FedEx, UPS and 24/7 AOG service, reinforcing the company's reputation as a reliable and customer-focused partner.
