The Ministry of Economy creates specially adapted jobs for people with disabilities. In this regional administration, all office supplies are arranged centrally in the Hänel Rotomat® office carousel.
What is special about this solution, however, is that the task is performed entirely by a severely visually impaired person.
All office supplies are entered and sorted by categories into a computer system with a braille feeder. Specific articles can be searched through the search screen. The same computer also acts as the control unit for the Hänel Rotomat® office carousel and brings the requested materials to the pick-up point. For added security, search results and control commands can be read aloud through the speaker. The different storage locations are additionally marked in Braille at the pick-up point. Thanks to all these customizations, access is flawless, even with a large number of different articles in stock.
In collaboration with Hänel experts, our German partner Dräger & Lienert from Marburg developed this feature for visually impaired workers using “DL Contact Manager” software.
A safety curtain in front of the carousel prevents the user from accidentally touching the inside of the device while it is running. Hänel Rotomat® stands out not only because of its accessible design, but also because of its flexibility. The dimensions of the carousel were perfectly adapted to those of the protected building to make the most of the available space. The optimised distribution of carriers by drawer modules and intermediate levels allows you to store a wide range of office supplies in a compact Hänel Rotomat® system.
